I am a writer, poet and editor based in Edinburgh. My poems have appeared in Poetry News, the Bridport Prize anthology, Gutter, Poems for Grenfell Tower, Nutmeg and elsewhere.

In December 2022 my poem ‘Frida Kahlo & Diego Maradona in the Blue House’ was a winner in the Poetry Society members’ prize.

‘The Ballant o Hugh McKail’s Guid Buek’ was highly commended in Edinburgh City Art Centre's Retelling Auld Reekie competition in February 2023, and ‘The Knowledge’ highly commended in the Rialto Nature and Place prize 2023.

I completed the Writing Poetry MA degree at Newcastle University in 2021 and perform regularly at the Rock The Boat event at Summerhall in Edinburgh and other venues.

TOTALLY THAMES and CREATIVE MILE

My show From The Mouth of The Thames, a series of poems and photographs tracing walks from the mouth of the river all the way to the source 215 miles away, opened at Watermans Arts Centre in Brentford, west London, on 30th August 2023 and ran throughout September. A collaboration with the visual artist Clem Routledge, it explored ecology, personal history and memory and celebrated the associative power and multiple aspects of the Thames.
